I have been in touch with a number of Climate Tech venture capital funds, angels, startup incubators and seed investors to get an understanding of where they want to allocate capital in the next year. If you’d like to know more on various firms and their investment interests, please catch me on the chat.
I have also been doing rounds of discussions in getting feedback on the Helix methodology and how the methodology can be used to decarbonise the economy and create an equal world, both at the same time. An estimated billion children are likely to be impacted by the adverse impacts of climate change, or more clearly, our inaction.
One such opportunity is with the UNICEF Venture Fund, for early stage (seed) startups in areas that can benefit the next generation. The programme offers upto $100k in equity free funding for companies that are registered in developing countries. The firm needs to have a working prototype and should be ready to ‘open source’ their know-how. Obviously this is not for patent seeking capitalists, and would be monopolies. If your startup is female founded, you have extra points in the evaluation. If you know of other such funding opportunities, please leave a comment for me to pick it up.
