The Illusion:

Your FTSE 100 tracker is up 22.6% YTD. I started my UK investing journey, like you, back in 2017, by buying a FTSE 100 tracker fund. I quickly realised, that the Footsie is a hologram, and its profits are generated by a foreign economy and magnified by a Sterling damaged by domestic fiscal instability.

The headlines claim UK recovery. It’s a lie. Our expert, a seasoned CFO consultant, says this is an FX accident, not a structural recovery.

The Reality Check:

The Budget confirmed that the UK is structurally rigged against the domestic HNW investor.

For the property landlord, the tax system is not merely difficult.

It is now a forced structural exit.

The UK tax regime is rated the second worst in the world for property.

How much of damage, are you willingly accepting, from FTSE, and real estate investments? Let us know, here:

Am I doomed?

The ESG Twist:

The real estate sector carries massive, unpriced Scope 3 emissions (93% of total liability), meaning your physical assets are sitting on a ticking carbon tax bomb.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor cut the green levies, ensuring a Policy-Enabled Greenwashing Lag that defers essential grid investment.

Helix Verdict:

The UK is a liability.

Your domestic asset base is under siege from punitive taxation and systemic, unpriced carbon risk.

The only way to win is to leverage the Global Lifeboat and treat UK assets as financial liabilities requiring immediate restructuring.

In the deep dive, I cover:

  • Why the FTSE 100 performance is a sand castle? What we are doing about it?

  • Why it is a death knell for UK property investors, and what we are doing about it?

  • The carbon mortgage, and the rising risk of green levies, while the government delays greening the infrastructure.

  • The Helix position

I will cover the UK investment scene plus many other important factors, during our session on Sunday 7th Dec 2025.
